MOVER WITNESS EXCHANGE
These drawings are residue from my one on one exchanges with: Lisa F, Lexie, Amelia, Christopher, Lisa P
Focusing on ways to decenter the exterior body as the indicator of assumed identities and rely on embodiment as the primary portal through which to express and share, I invited people into this scoring practice with whom I knew only peripherally or who I didn’t know at all, but admired. The intention was to build a relationship through movement, vulnerability, witnessing and being witnessed, to challenge perception and evoke a deep respect and empathy for self and the other.
*inspired by Authentic Movement practice, disrupted by the writing and consideration of Eila Goldhan’s Is Authentic a meaningful Name for the practice of Authentic Movement
